Bed & Breakfasts Versus Hotels

By: Patti Rob

Would you rather stay at a bed & breakfast or a hotel while you are on vacation or traveling for business? More people are answering that question by stating they would much rather stay at a bed & breakfast. They want to have a very comfortable environment to stay in and they want to be able to save money at the same time. Most bed & breakfasts are very small and intimate while hotels seem to be very large and impersonal.

The atmosphere in a hotel can be chaotic at times. You may have to wait a very long time to get your breakfast, to check in, or to get the front desk to address some other need you have. With most bed & breakfast locations, your needs will be met immediately and you can get back to enjoying yourself. This is a great way to pamper yourself too.

One of the main enticers of a bed & breakfast is the delicious foods that are offered. There are plenty of hotels that have restaurants and that have a continental breakfast offered at no charge. However, the food offered at a bed & breakfast is often served in a more personal manner. For those that really miss the comforts of home, this may be just what they need to get through it.

Some people travel so often that they really get homesick. Staying in one hotel after another can really take a toll on a person. It can be refreshing to stay at a bed & breakfast which is more of an intimate setting. It can definitely help a person feel more comfortable. Some hotels are so big that a person has trouble remembering where they need to be. This isn't going to be the case with a traditional style bed & breakfast.

For those that have been curious about what bed & breakfast locations have to offer, the best thing to do is make a reservation to stay in one. Once someone does though they may decide that is the only way to travel. Since there are generally bed & breakfast locations to be found all over, a person can easily get away from having to deal with hotel rooms.

A stay at a bed & breakfast can be a great option when you have company as well. You may find it to cramped to have them stay with you but you don't want to send them to a hotel. Chances are they will really appreciate the thought you put into finding them such a delightful bed & breakfast location for them to enjoy. They will consider it a special perk of the visit.

The little things are what really make the difference with the top rated bed & breakfast locations. Hotels often miss these details and as a result guests don't feel valued while they are staying there. Almost everyone that has the option to stay at a bed & breakfast over a hotel will do so as long as they have had good experiences with this type of establishment in the past.

As the word spreads about the quality of your bed & breakfast, you can be sure that your schedule of reservations is going to continue to grow. Hopefully you will have a full house every night so that your bed & breakfast can be as profitable for you as possible. Paying attention to the needs and desires of your guests is going to help you make it happen.
