The Apple iPhone Buzz

By: iPhone3G.Com

Have you heard of the iPhone? I bet you have because when it was released on July 29/07 it's sales shot through the roof. The airwaves were flooded with stories about people lining up to buy this incredible device. If you haven't heard of it, I bet you're wondering what all the buzz all about?

The iPhone is not just your typical cell phone, it's multiple media devices in one. You can not only make calls on it but you can visit the internet, you can watch widescreen movies and can listen to your favorite music because it doubles as an iPod.

The combination of these different devices in the iPhone is not only a technological marvel but it's also convenient in the sense that you no longer have to carry multiple devices around with you. One iPhone will do the trick. This makes it a cost saving device as well.

Now, all of the features sound interesting, but simply put, you really have to see an iPhone in action to grasp how unique it actually is. Here are the different features of the iPhone:

1. The iPhone has no buttons on it, so when you first hold it in your hands, you may not know how to use it. Once you touch the screen, the iPhone comes alive. The whole screen turns into big, colorful buttons that represent the dial pad. By touching on the appropriate numbers on the screen, the iPhone dials your call. Because the numbers a bigger than the traditional keys on a normal phone, dialing out on an iPhone is much easier.

2. Want to go online? No problem for an iPhone. It's user interface, and amazing software, get you there seamlessly. With a few flicks of your fingers, you're online and scrolling through the real internet not just some mobile compatible pages that are found on websites.

3. Movies? No problem. You can download a ton of them from the iTunes store. Once loaded, you can watch them in full widescreen view all on your phone. Because the whole phone is the screen, your viewing pleasure is not limited to the typical screen size of your normal cell phone.

4. The last feature of the iPhone is its capability of storing and playing your favorite music. Because it has an 8 gigabyte hard drive built in, it can hold thousands of songs. This gives it the functionality of Apple's famous iPod. To access your songs, you simply navigate to the the artist, then the album and you are ready to listen. It's that simple.

With all these incredible features, you would expect an iPhone to be unfordable. Well, at first, they priced it a little out of range for most people at $500-$600. After a few months, the price dropped substantially to $399 for the 8 gig model. This price is better suited for the masses. If this price is still a little too much you may want to try to find a used iPhone. Because they are very popular right now, you're still going to pay at least $300 even though it's used.

If you do decide to buy an iPhone there's one more thing you're going to need and that's a cellular phone plan. Currently, the iPhone has an exclusive with AT&T. Their plans start at $59.99 per month which is comparable with the other providers. If you find you have a few dollars left after getting your phone and plan set up, you may want to add some iPhone extras or accessories. Things like docking stations, cases, holsters and cables are very popular items.

Although, the iphone will set you back a little money, keep in mind that it really is multiple devices in one. If you want the convenience of having these different devices in one unit, then the iPhone will certainly deliver.
